Craft fair pictures
Well, it's over, thank goodness! I have been working tirelessly for a couple of months, to the point of neglecting my boyfriend, my poor cat, and the gym! So, here is what my table looked like at the beginning of the show:
I counted it up, and over the last 6 weeks, I made...wait for it......wait for it.....568 cards. No, that is not a misprint.....568 cards in a little over a month. So, that is what the table looked like before it opened. And I did not take a pic of it afterwards, because, well, it looked pretty much the same. : ( It was not a good day, and I am feeling pretty dejected right now. Soooo many people stopped to exclaim how beautiful my work was....but then they just walked on to the next table. I did sell over half of my Halloween treat bags, a few shadow boxes, and about 30 cards. But not ONE, not even ONE, ornament sold. I thought they turned out cute, but I guess not. That's what I get for thinking my work is OK.

Everything came out beautifully!!! I'm thinking of doing a craft fair this year, but am very nervous b/c I've never done one before and don't know if anything will sell. then of course I have to make stuff to sell. lol! I'll need a whole week off of work just to do that. lol!

it could just b that people are not quite thining about ornaments yet...you will probably sell them closer to christmas...and also you could offer to do custom ones...and if you used vinyl you could always peel off what's there and add something else to either sell or give as a gift of your own
ReplyDeleteKim, Your table looked beautiful! Don't feel your work wasn't good enough, because it's beautiful. I think with the economy the way it is, people just aren't buying like they used to. My last craft fair was like this also, it's so disappointing. Shari (cricutrookie)
ReplyDeleteYour table looked awesome! Everything looked beautiful, you can tell you worked hard. I can't believe more things weren't sold, I mean, EVERYTHING was so pretty and colorful. Maybe closer to Christmas the ornaments will sell. Good job on all your hard work.
ReplyDeleteThank you for all of your encouraging comments! I wish I could say that it was because people weren't thinking of Christmas, but there were many people selling Christmas items and doing well. Oh well...I have enough cards to last me 10 years now! LOL. Thanks again, everyone!
ReplyDeleteOh Kim, It is so hard to sell at Craft Fairs and so much work so I don't do them any more at all.
ReplyDeleteI do sell at some Gift Shops. Email me and I can give you some details on that and hopefully you can get something set up that way.
Your work is beautiful. I was going to email you today to see how it went but I am sure you are exhausted.
Your work is wonderful please don't let this stop you from continuing. I've done many craft shows and what sells great at one show doesn't sell at all at the next one. People are fickle and you never know what their looking for. You need to try a couple more shows. The closer it gets to Christmas the more people buy items at craft shows. Keep up the great work.
