Trying the craft fair again

Well, for those who followed my blog last year, you may or may not remember that I did a craft fair at my work, and it was a total bust.  Despite that, I am being a good solider and trying it again!  This time, I have my Imagine on hand and plan on using it to the fullest.  So here are a few onesies I did with Nursery Tails and some printable heat transfer material from Wal-Mart.  I got a pack for light fabrics, and one for dark fabrics, and I am glad I did.  The one for dark fabrics has a white background, whereas the light fabric material is a transparent background.  So when I first did the green and dark pink ones, the lamb was pink (not cute), and the turtle completely blended in with the fabric.  You can see how much better they are now, after using the material for dark fabrics!  All images were cut at "2.7 relative".  I think these turned out pretty cute.  What do you think??  Thanks for visiting today!

Copycat t-shirt

A couple of months ago, my boyfriend and I went to the Flyers arena (Philadelphia hockey team, for those who do not know), and I saw this t-shirt that I LOVED.  After seeing the price and experiencing dizziness for a few seconds (it was $60), I promptly said to him, "I could MAKE that."  So that's what I just did!  I got the heat transfer vinyl from HH Sign Supply, the rhinestones from Michaels - they are the Jolee's Swarovski elements in 3 different sizes - and I used the iRock tool and MTC's rhinestone feature. 

I am pretty happy with the way this one turned out, so I hope you like it too!  I traced an image of the logo that I found on Google, made it into a cutting file, then cut out the different pieces in the appropriate color vinyl, ironing each on in layers.  I then used the iRock to put each rhinestone on using the template I got by employing Make the Cut's rhinestone feature.  The embellished piece is 5.5" x 4.5", and it took about 20 minutes from start to finish - and it all started out as a plain black, $5 tee from Wal Mart!!  I love how the flash caught the shine in the stones in this picture!  What does everyone think?

Heat transfer vinyl technique

Here is my first attempt at heat transfer vinyl.  The chick was cut at 3.1" x 2.6" and the cracked egg I just sized to fit over it.  I put the eyes and beak on with some fabric paint, and the "just hatched" is also painted on.  The chick is CAC and the wording is Pooh font, as in the previous onesies.  I used Siser Easy weed heat tranfer, and I bought it online at:

I liked H&H because you can buy a multi-pack by the foot, instead of the large rolls, but if you do a search for Siser heat transfer vinyl, you can find it elsewhere.  I also saw that Custom Crops carries the Silhouette heat vinyl, so just look around and find what you like!  For this, I used the color "Cream" for the egg, and "Sun Yellow" for the chick.  In order to set it, I used my iron on the highest cotton setting, put a thin cloth over the vinyl, and pressed my iron onto it for 60 seconds.  IYou have to apply a fair amount of pressure, but it worked perfectly, and I really like the look of the vinyl!  Hope you like this one, and thanks for visiting!
