Imagine card

Good morning, everyone.  Here is another Imagine card I made to play around a bit, and I loved this cut on Kate's Kitchen.  I made it for my boyfriend, obviously, and I printed the frosting twice to get the extra layers and dimension, as well as using pop dots on the cupcakes and title piece - hopefully the side view will show that well enough.  The card base is DCWV Guy Stack, and I changed the backgroud pattern slightly.  The only thing I would like changed about the I is the flood fill.  I wish I could change colors of certain layers individually, without having it flood fill and lose detail.  But, oh well, I still love it, and plan to play with it a lot more in the coming weeks before I go back to work.  Thanks for visiting today!

Puppy shaped card

How adorable is this little guy????  Oh my....SVG Cuts could NOT have made this easier to make.  It's from the new Charm and Chance set, and I think this is going to be my niece's birthday card this spring.  She loves her little dog, and I just thought of her as soon as I saw the cut.  The card base was cut to fit to a 12x12 page, and the final product is 4x5.  A little smaller than I usually like, but it's fine.  The flower gem in the collar is from some random embellishment set that I can't even remember!  LOL.  You should really take a look at this kit - it has this card, a clover shaped card, a pot of gold treat box, and even more cute stuff!!

I left the inside plain for now, until I am 100% sure what this card is going to be used for, but I added some dimension to the front with a white gel pen and pop dots for the ears.  It's so simple, there is nothing more to say, so thanks for visiting today!  **DISCLAIMER**  Just to let everyone know, I have NO affiliation with any graphic/svg site, company, etc.  Just in case anyone was ever wondering, LOL.

"Thinking of you" cards

I think these are my favorites from the ones I made in the last few weeks.  I especially like the yellow daisy one from the Sweet Stack.  Same specs as most others - the mats are from DCWV Latte and Sweet stacks, stamp sentiment from Michael's, tags from ACY and Lacy Labels - and again, I kept them simple in order to make in many multiples.  So, that's it for today, and thanks for visiting!

World Card Making Day efforts

As many of you know, yesterday was World Cardmaking Day!  So, I decided to take it to heart this year, since I was not even making cards yet at this time last year, and really put my all into the "holiday".  Therefore, I wanted to share with you much of the reason I have been hit or miss with posting lately.  I am still getting everything ready for the craft fair, which is now less than a week away - eek!  So next Saturday will be the end of the crazy cardmaking, and I can get back to a nice, leisurely pace.  Here are two pictures of all of the cards I worked on yesterday.  As you can see, most of them are in various stages of completion - some still need ribbon, some I ran out of the border I cut, some need senitments - but here is everything I did yesterday.  Of course, each card/set will get its own post eventually with pics and details, but I wanted to give you an overview for now.  Hope you enjoy....and boy, am I tired.  So, it's off to enjoy my three year anniversary with my boyfriend, which is today!!!  He has been sick as a DOG all week, so what are the odds that he actually planned ahead and I am getting my present today???  LOL!  Not good, I'm afraid.  Thanks for visiting today!

Finally, a new post!!

I made this card for a co-worker, whose father passed away four years ago today.  Actually, her soccer team wanted to buy a card, but I offered to make it instead.  I knew a sympthay card, per se, was not the way to go, so I wanted to more of a "thinking of you" theme, so I found this rub-on and designed it around that. 

I used a rub-on I had from years ago, DCWV Rustic Stack, SU blush blossom, and MTC to make the buckle. I just took a tag shape, and added in the slots (rectangles made reeeeeally small), and put the ribbon through. The ribbon and stamps are all SU also, and I used the dollar ink spots from Michaels for the inking. I intentionally kept it really simple on the inside (very plain and no mat) because 40 girls need to sign this thing!


Overall, the card is 6x9, so I made it pretty big, too!  Thanks for visiting today, and I am really going to try to get back into the swing of crafting.  Getting home at 8:30 every night this week has not helped!  Ugh....

"Hello" card

This is a Gypsy file from the "Gypsy A to Z" DVD from Above Rubies Studios, and I wanted to give it a try.  I did not watch this part of the DVD yet, so I have no idea what the ladies did with this file, but when I saw it, I immediately thought of my mom and her friend Pam.  Pam comes over every Wednesday morning for coffee, and that was the inspiration for this!

So, the file is from the DVD, the paper is from SU's Summer Picnic designer series, and the two sentiments are both from Wild Card.  This was ridiculously easy to make, so I hope I did it right, as compared to the DVD.  Maybe I will watch that segment tonight!  Thanks for visiting!

A new card - pick you up!!

Well, a friend of mine is having a bit of a stressful period, so I made this for her!  All paper, ribbon, and buttons are from Stampin Up!, all cuts are from Just Because Cards, and the truck was embossed with CB swiss dots.  The details are:
                                     Truck cut at 4.22" x 2.31"
                                     Tag and title cut at 2.71" x 3.21"
                                     Background piece cut at 4.81" x 6.87"

The inside was inked and stamped with supplies from Michael's, and I used a Galaxy pen for the faux stitching on the title tag.  Thanks for visiting!

And finally, this card is for my mom, and I threw it together in about 5 minutes today.  Here is the story.  In January, she had a hip replacement, but there were complications and she had to be in a wheelchair for 10 weeks, which she HATED.  She is still young - 64 - and independent, so that alone was awful.  Once she could start putting some weight on her leg, she pushed the envelope one night, and fell and broke her wrist.  Yep, you guessed it, another surgery a couple of weeks ago!  Then today, I took her to get the sutures out of her wrist and the Dr. noticed one of the incisions where he placed the pin is getting infected.  THEN he looked at her foot and saw it was too swollen for comfort, so he sent us over to get her a Doppler of her leg.  BLOOD CLOT!!!  We are both about at the end of our collective ropes, so I felt really badly for her and wanted to make her this card.

Not sure if you can tell, but the glass is actually cut out of acetate.  The "sugar" on the rim is not my original idea, as I saw someone else do this on the Cricut MB last week or so.  Also, this pattern is MUCH less obnoxious in person that in the picture.  I liked the fact that the reverse side was lemons, so I had to use it.  All cuts are from Just Because cards, and the paper is from a K&Co pack.  Thanks for visiting!

Simple sunflower sweet treat

Here I go again with my sweet treat cups!  As soon as I got them from Barb, aka snowmanlover, I knew I wanted to do an "authentic" sunflower by putting actual sunflower seeds in the middle.  I finally remembered to get the seeds the other night, so here it is.  The card is not for anyone in particular, just one I wanted to make to have on hand.  I felt like the sunflower was a good "thinking of you" theme.  The background paper, ribbon, sweet treat cup, and stamps are all from Stampin' Up!, and you can get it all from Barb, here:  http://www.snowmanlover.blogspot.com/.

I definitely needed to ink the sunflower after I cut it from WIMG, and then I punched out the middle with the coordinating SU 1 3/4" punch for the sweet treat cup.  The buttons are from a pack I bought at Joann's last week.  Thanks for visiting!

Any occasion card

This card was inspired by something I saw on the cover of a card magazine while waiting in line at Michael's - lol.  It think it was PaperCrafts???   Anyway, it was a tree and button theme, so I did this as my take on it.  I intentionally left off a sentiment because I don't know what I am going to use it for just yet, and I want to keep my options open!

The trees were cut with MTC and a file from Myscrapchick.com, the hills were hand cut (roughly, lol),the brown ribbon is SU, and the buttons are SU from the Fresh Favorites and Sherbet collections.  The paper used for the hills is also SU from a designer series pack that was included in Snowmanlover's Spring card kit, and I just drew on the "stitching".  The green swirled paper for the tree tops and the blue dot paper is from a new K & Co pack out right now, and it has some really cute papers in it.  I will post the name of it and a pic when I am around my supplies again this weekend.

The cardstock for the base is also SU, and it's Certainly Celery, which I LOVE.  No matter how many variety packs of cardstock I buy, this green is never replicated, so I think I will be sending in an order, Barb!  I think I covered it all now, so, thanks for visiting today!  Tomorrow will be a fun Easter posting!!

Get Well card

Hello and happy Monday!  Well, not so much here on the East Coast, with all the rain and flooding.  Oh well, on to a happier subject - an oversized get well card!  I saw one of those huge Valentine's cards at CVS, and it gave me the idea for this.  My mom recently had surgery, so I wanted to make her something cute for the bedside.  I used MTC for the image, and used Cricut 12x24 cardstock to make the card 9x12!  I also used the Cricut markers and the Wild Card cart for the "just a note" sentiment.  The original file was from La's Cricut and Scal here: http://las-cricut.blogspot.com/
