Lever birthday card

This is a card from the SVG Cuts Breezy Backyard Lever Cards, and I was really intimidated by this set at first.  They looked really difficult, but it was actually really easy to put together, thankfully.  This particular card is a mixture of SU! and DCWV patterns, the inside stamps are from a Fiskars set from Joann's, and  the "Wonderful Son" is an SP & Company set.  Overall, the card came out to be a 5x5 square, perfect for my Mom to give my brother for his birthday this weekend.

Simple male birthday card

I decided I was running out of ideas for themes for all of my brothers birthdays, so I decided to try a patterned card instead.  Then I saw the SVG Cuts Guy Cards, and thought, "Perfect!"  For this, I used DCWV new Plaids and Stripes stack, which is amazing, BTW, SU! buttons, and my own TTF that I got free from fontriver.com.  I put the words on the mat in MTC, changed their positions a little, welded, and lastly, created a shadow layer for it all.  My trusty white gel pen finished off the wording with a little extra, and that was it!  So easy, and I think it looks OK, right??  Thanks for visiting!

I'm Batman...........

Lol.  Here is the card for the little one (my youngest nephew), and he is turning 7 next week!  I was debating over Batman or Spongebob for his card, and I may still make a SB card tonight, just to decide.  I used the Batman cart for all of this, and the background mat is also from the Making Memories Just Chillin' stack, which I love for boys and male cards.

Batman was cut at 4"x3", and the layers were pretty tough, if I am honest.  I gave up on the white for the eyes and teeth, and just colored it in with a gel pen.  Ugh...The star buttons are random ones from Joann's, and on the inside mat, I used Amy Chomas' gel pen holder to draw the cut on each corner.  Pretty simple, so that's about it, and thanks for visiting!

Sorry it has been so long, but I have been away a lot lately, and it is definitely time to start catching up on cards!

Here is one I made for my nephew's birthday this weekend, and he just turned 12.  He just started really getting into skateboarding a few months ago, so I scoured the internet for skating images to use in MTC, because I was not really into buying the Lite cart for one or two images!  I found this as a clip art in a Google search, and it was perfect!  I figured a silhouette would be good for this, and the mat is a piece from the Making Memories "Just Chillin" stack.  The title is from a free TTF and clip art also, and I just used the shaodw layer in MTC to create the effect - easy! 

Finally, I used the SU Sanded background stamp to give it a sort of grunge look on the inside mat, added a couple of SU buttons on the front, then wrote in it, and it was done!  Thanks for visiting today!

Another birthday card for my brother....

And this one is for my Mom to give him, obviously, LOL!  Not much Cricut here, with the exception of the grass cut from Create A Critter and the inside mats from Just Because.  The "For My Son" on the front was cut with MTC and one of the standard fonts.  I used a CB folder on the front, then inked it, and the mat is from DCWV Farmer's Market stack (same one on the inside).  Really simple and easy card for today!  Thanks for visiting!

Funny story with this one....

So, you are probably wondering why this card has a squirrel in military attire.  Here is the backstory on this one.  My brother is an avid hunter, and one day he came out with this story about how the squirrels were conducting a skillfully strategized attack upon him when he was in the woods, and he decided that it was an elite squirrel special forces squad called "The Gray Berets".  Yes, we laughed until we almost peed.  To this day, the gray berets are still a joke in my family, and guess what???  His birthday is Sunday.  After the picture, I wrote on the inside of the card, "The Gray Berets never take a day off.  Happy birthday, and watch out!!"  HAHAHA. 

Ok, details.  The squirrel and binoculars are from Camp out, the helmet from Stand and Salute, and then I used some green and brown inks for the camo look on it.  The camo paper itself is from an Imaginisce stack called Just Chillin', and the tag is cut from Storybook with random buttons from a scrapbooking kit from HSN.  Thanks for looking, and MISSY - DON'T LET DOUG SEE THIS YET!!!!!!  Missy is the wife of this particular brother, and she frequents my blog, so SHH!!  Thanks for visiting, and I hope this gives some of you a laugh.
